Psalm 46:10, Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

No one is immuned against the antics of the devil (noise and distractions); it may even be worse for those who are aware of their call by God and are making all efforts and attempts to follow God.

A classic example is found in 1 Kings 19:1 – 18, when Prophet Elijah, who had been on God’s assignment got discouraged and was instructed by God to meet Him at a place; 1 Kings 19:11 – 13, Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it.

Despite the fact God had instructed and directed His prophet, there were still noise and distractions in the form of ‘great and strong wind that tore mountains and broke rocks in pieces,’ there were also earthquakes and fire – but God was not in any of the three (3) distractions. The prophet was able to find God only when he was quiet and heard Him in a ‘still small voice.’

Beloved, I bring you God’s still, small voice today, even in the midst of strong winds, earthquakes and fire, and God’s word to you is; “God is with you!” As He was with Moses, Joseph, Joshua and Jesus Christ, the Almighty God will neither leave nor forsake you.

Prayer: My Father! Let Your presence remain with me forever, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
