John 10:10, …I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

By way of reminder, we have been on reasons why people miss out on their times and seasons, with ‘enemy action’ as our current topic. We have also seen that the devil uses trick and subtlety to try to get us to go against God and take his offer, and when that fails, he turns to force, using financial challenges and difficulties to make us bend, and the next, which we are currently on is sickness/illness.

After having defined and seen the causes of sicknesses and illnesses, we now turn to see a few examples of people Satan attacked with this scourge. We return to a passage we had recently used;

Luke 13:10 – 16, Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.” The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound–think of it–for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”

According to the Lord Jesus Christ, this woman “was bound by Satan.” Whenever something is ‘bound’ it implies that such is not free to go where it wants to go, when it wants go and how far it desires to go! In otherwords, a bound person is a captive and at the mercy of the captor.

Also, the woman would not have been able to raise herself, thereby could not do whatever and everything she desired to, except her captor (Satan) allowed her. But Jesus Christ came to her rescue, as He has come to your rescue today; 1 John 3:8, …For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

PRAYER: Jehovah! Devil us from every captivity of Satan, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
