Discipleship Series; 31 January, 2022

Mark 3:14 – 15, Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons.

Owing to Scriptures and in particular, three (3) of such we pointed out in the last few editions, we established the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ could not have been able to achieve what God wanted Him to do all alone and by Himself, and that He needed others; support, allies, destiny-helpers in one form of relationship or the other, which we also pointed out that it was not an attempt in any way to disparage or belittle our Master, Lord and Saviour. But rather, a statement of fact.

And we concluded the last edition of this devotional this way, “if the Lord Jesus Christ needed, built and used relationships with other people in achieving His goals and concluding His assignment, who are we to think we do not need others, and that we are enough all by ourselves?”

Could this erroneous belief, thought and mindset be borne out of pride, ignorance, or both?

Numbers 12:3, Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.

As anointed as Moses was, that God gave a testimonial to his person (see Bible verse above), he still needed someone like Jethro to see and point out something – what he was blinded to and could not see, perhaps was not even able to think of, because the Apostle Paul rightly said as led by the Spirit;

1 Corinthians 13:9, For we know in part and we prophesy in part.

PRAYER: Oh God! Send me helpers, support and more importantly, teachers, in the name of Jesus Christ.
