Discipleship Series; 26 June, 2022

DECLARATION: I enjoy the unconditional love of God, and I dish out same to others unconditionally, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Romans 5:6 – 8, For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

In reality, showing, exhibiting and manifesting God’s kind of love is an expression of our likeness (similarity) to God, which is a good sign and nothing to be ashamed of or feel bad about – the kind of love that we still dearly and deeply love our children, even when they had misbehaved and acted badly, wrongly and out of place.

We are not acting out of place or out of order to love our children dearly, even when they (our children) are disobedient to us, rebellious and showed other vices – God loves us so, inspite of our sins, shortcomings and disobedience. In loving our children, we are acting out or role as custodian, which is quite and very similar to an owner, just that as custodians, we do not have sole right and exclusivity on the objects of our love.

Come to think of/about this, in the last months, weeks, days, hours, perhaps minutes and seconds, can you confidently say you have not acted out of line and out of place with God – that you have not sinned or erred? But has God withdrawn His love from you?

Psalm 130:3, If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

Beloved, if God has changed and withdrawn His love from you and I as a result of our wrongdoing (sin) – we would have been minced-meat for the devil; plucked off, ridiculed and destroyed and very easily for that matter!

PRAYER: Oh God! As I receive and enjoy Your love – help me show and give others, in the name of Jesus Christ.
