Discipleship Series; 20 April 2024

DECLARATION: Our brains and those of our leaders function properly, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

1 Corinthians 12:12 – 14; For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ …For in fact the body is not one member but many.

To answer the question; “What body parts are in the head and how well do you think you/anyone can function without those body parts?”

In the last edition, we itemised and identified those major parts and organs in the head, but in this edition, we would begin to look at the functions and uses of those body parts found in the head, their relevance and use to the whole body.

Romans 13:1 – 3; Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.

  • The brains: The brain is a complex organ that controls thought, memory, emotion, touch, motor skills, vision, breathing, temperature, hunger, and every process that regulates our body. Together, the brain and spinal cord that extends from it make up the central nervous system.

What is/are the most important function(s) of the brain for humans?

The brain is the most complex part of the human body. This three-pound organ is the seat of intelligence, interpreter of the senses, initiator of body movement, and controller of behaviour. Lying in its bony shell and washed by protective fluid, the brain is the source of all the qualities that define our humanity.

PRAYER: Oh God! Cause our individual brains and those of our leaders to function well, in the name of Jesus Christ.
